Welcome
to the official website of Ryan Murray!
(Current Updates as of 7/08)
Sorry
for the 4 month hiatus in updates…a lot has been going on.
So,
first off, if you missed me on Guiding Light…not to worry. I have
a new episode airing August 12th - so make sure to set your Tivo’s
and DVR’s. Also, I finally had my demo reel made and I was able
to compile a few episodes, along with some other fun footage. Check
out my reel from my gallery page under Video Clips. You can also view
my Bridezilla’s commercial which is still airing on the W.E. network!!!
I have also been doing a lot more modeling in the past 3 months and
have posted new photos, also on the gallery page. Check ‘em out
and let me know what you think!
As
far as performing, I just finished doing a big Industrial for Bernina
Sewing Co. We rehearsed for 4 days here in NYC and then headed to Kansas
City, MO to perform live! Video footage coming soon! Betwixt rehearsals
for that I began rehearsals for a new series of works by new playwrights,
Off B’way at 59 E 59! It is called Oh! California! - how appropriate.
I am so excited to perform in this space!!! We open July 29th and run
through August 10th. Go to Ticketmaster.com today and get your tix.
They are free with your Equity card and only $18 otherwise. The evening
is only 1.5 hours with no intermission so come and enjoy!!!
AND…a
day before I flew to Kansas City I was in the recording studio laying
down some new tracks that you will soon be able to hear right here on
my website! And the most exciting part of it all is that LAUREN KENNEDY,
yes the one and only, graciously agreed to record a duet with me. We
recorded Jason Robert Brown’s “I’d Give It All For
You.” All I can say is WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO! We had such a blast and
I am forever indebted to her! I should have the tracks posted by the
end of July so please visit again soon!!!
And what of the Lone Star drama you may be asking yourselves? Well we
are still waiting in the wings for a new start date! KEEP YOUR FINGERS
CROSSED!!! It is going to happen!
As many of you know I was slotted to make my Broadway debut in Lone
Star Love this past winter at the Belasco Theatre. We are still on a
bit of a hiatus and will hopefully go back into rehearsals soon. After
we won the hearing the Quaid’s appealed - big surprise. Then they
dropped the ball, missed a few deadlines, and we won by default. Now
we are just hoping for a settlement to be reached…that is all
I can say but if you want a bit more of the original story, please read
below...
…there
have been huge “goings-on” in the past few weeks and you
really have been stuck under a rock if you have not heard. All of us
actors from the show went to our union- Actors’ Equity- to file
charges against Randy Quaid and his wife/manager Evi Quaid. The long
and short of it is that they found Randy guilty on ALL counts, banned
him from the union FOR LIFE, and fined him $81,000. Evi also caused
quite a stink in the L.A. office- attacking one poor 76 year old member,
drawing blood, etc. I encourage you to go to my PRESS page and click
on the updated links!!! It is stranger than fiction my friends and it
is ALL TRUE! If anyone wants to offer me a book deal now, I have already
started writing!!! If you have any further questions, please feel free
to email me and I will fill you in as best I can.
Despite
the set back I am confident that the show will prevail- and with this
new development, it is now much easier for us- being publicly legitimized
and all! Also, Lone Star Love has not been around for 18 years to just
quit now. We had a blast in Seattle, for the most part, and the show
was received well. The only bad things to be said about the show we
already knew, but since the show was “frozen” due to circumstances
out of our control, I am also confident that when things are ironed
out we will have one helluva show to bring to New York.
In
the meantime, please think great and positive thoughts for LSL, for
this is not just another show to bite the dust on its way to the Great
White Way. We have a special little show with lots of heart and personality
and I pray you will all get the chance to see it in all its glory!!!
Thanks
so much for visiting and please come back soon! To get in touch with
me please email me at ryan@ryan-murray.com.
Truly-
Ryan
