In addition to performing, Ryan has taken the fitness world by storm, as a Spinning instructor for 5 of NYC’s top clubs, a personal trainer, and as the instructor for the "Total Body Workout" class for the 2-Year Professional Musical Theatre Training Program at Cap21. Ryan’s TBW is a class that focuses on toning up the body, not just for the sake of looking and feeling better but to help one understand the important relationship between being fit for your health, and being fit and performance ready! So much of what we do, whether you're an actor or not, takes a tremendous amount of stamina and perseverance, and it is important to remember that we have control over keeping and maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit!

Ryan Murray is the one of the most encouraging people I know. He must give me about 20 high-fives per session. There is never a second in our hour together that I feel inadequate. Other trainers told me what I did wrong, while Ryan tells me what I did right and never criticizes, only corrects. He really does care about YOU and wants to challenge you in a positive light. He makes sure that you are healthy first and foremost (water, carrots, and chicken strips!), and he's so positive that you want to BE healthy for him! Ryan Murray has completely changed my body and my lifestyle. Before training with him, I thought of myself as a healthy person and since I am a dancer, someone who is active. Ryan Murray has been a life changer for me. I now feel confident in my body, which a) is a new feeling, and b) as an actor is paramount. His incredibly uplifting spirit makes you want to work harder not out of fear, as some trainers, coaches, or dance instructors utilize, but out of joy. Fear/hatred of an opponent can be very effective; I was a jock for many, many years and I understand its assets, but Ryan Murray has brilliantly found a way to never make it a competition with anyone other than yourself, and I've never wanted to "bring it" more or had so much being active. He also educates as you progress, showing you which muscles should be targeted with each exercise, why certain muscles are sore, and with his innate knowledge of the human body's joints and muscles because of his skills as a massage therapist combined with his skills as a personal trainer, nothing will ever be painful in the wrong way and you will truly get a "total body workout". I completely trust Ryan Murray with my training, and I've seen amazing results, not just in my body but in everyone I know who trains with him.

There is nothing like training with Ryan Murray! I started by taking his Total Body Workout class and every time it was over I felt like I had just won a battle! Ryan has this ability to challenge you not only on a physical level but his positivity and that, "Ok! Now give me 12 more!" attitude make you challenge yourself on a much deeper mental level.
When I started personal training with Ryan I could see and feel a difference in my body almost right away! Now my core is stronger, my arms and legs are toned and I feel like I can do anything (especially after doing his 8 minute circuit 3 times in a row)! Like I said, there is nothing like training with Ryan! You will laugh, you will cry, and you will get sexier! Usually all at the same time!
I cannot recommend Ryan Murray enough! Three of my friends have already started with him just from seeing how working with him has helped me! He is the jam!

If someone told me a couple of months ago I'd look and feel the way I do now, I wouldn't have believed them. Before Total Body I never felt like I knew enough about physical fitness to work out on my own. I always wanted to get fit but I guess what I needed was a push in the right direction.
